Patient Care Tech- Nights - Med/Surg/Pediatrics Position Summary:
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs work of routine difficulty and provides care for the multicultural neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This is accomplished through criteria outlined on the core competency evaluation form. It is also the responsibility of the Patient Care Technician to collect data, provide comfort measures, assist with splinting, enters laboratory and radiology requests into the computer, and completes duties consistent with secretarial duties of the Intensive Care Unit. Basic Qualifications:

Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Experience:
A minimum of six (6) months’ of healthcare-related experience is preferred.
Ability to read, communicate and document effectively through oral, written or electronic means.
Previous PC experience preferred and excellent customer service skills required. Ability to prioritize and respond promptly to a changing workload.

Required Licensure/Certification(s):
Current verification in Basic Life Support. (If BLS verification is not current upon hire must be obtained within three (3) months of hire).
