Job Summary
RIS is looking to add to our growing team! We are seeking a Traveling Safety Representative who is comfortable with long-term consistent travel. Our projects require extended travel periods, typically ranging 3-6 months, depending on the project duration. As a Traveling Safety Representative, you will play a key role in ensuring safety standards are met across various job sites while traveling for work. Hotel accommodations are provided, though eligibility may vary based on specific project details. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections at construction sites to ensure adherence to OSHA standards and NEC regulations.
- Develop and implement safety programs that align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and support to employees on safety procedures, risk management, and workers' compensation protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers to assess safety risks associated with construction activities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between management, workers, and regulatory agencies regarding safety concerns.
- Utilize construction management software to track safety performance metrics and report findings.
Experience
- 1-2 years of safety related experience
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation law and EPA regulations.
- Proficient in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues in incidents.
- Experience with report writing for compliance documentation and incident analysis.
- Ability to develop effective training programs that engage employees in safety practices.
- Familiarity with EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey safety information.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation.
- Possess a current Osha 30 Certification as well as First Aid Training
