Overview of Responsibilities
- Participates in room set up, turnover, cleaning, and restocking.
- Performs duties relating to processing, decontaminates and maintenance of the surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance to manufactures specifications and the facilities policies and procedures.
- Will notify Supervisor of any potential defects to equipment and will work to facilitate maintenance / repair with manufacture.
- Understands and practices principles of universal precautions, and hazardous materials management to process instruments, equipment, and supplies through the stages of decontamination.
- Performs weekly scope surveillance sampling and culturing.
- Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Education / Experience
Education Required : High School diploma
Education Preferred : CNA certification; or evidence of successful completion of Reid Health recognized Nursing Assistant program or the fundamentals course of nursing school.
Experience Required : Yes; in an extended care or other healthcare facility
Certifications : Basic Life Support
Schedule Details
Day shift. 40 hours weekly. 7 : 00a-3 : 30p.
