What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kindergarten Teacher position at Reign Christian Academy?
School Description
Reign Christian Academy (“Reign”) is a K-7 classical Christian private school, heading into its third full school year, with a projected enrollment of 50 total students in 2025-2026. Reign’s Head of School, Matthew Vlahovich previously served as Chief of School at Ascent Classical Academies, and before that, was with Great Hearts Academies for 12 years, as Headmaster over three academies.
Reign is being sponsored by Hope in Our City, a non-profit faith-based organization that serves families in central Denver. Co-founders, Katie and Jordan Fischer, launched Reign so that families in the greater Ruby Hill neighborhood have access to an excellent education that is Christ-centered and student-focused. By providing a diverse spectrum of families with access to a private education that is both affordable and well-resourced, Reign ensures that students can pursue a future filled with education, employment, and lifelong opportunities. Reign partners with families closely understanding that they are their children’s primary teachers and caregivers.
Hybrid Classical Model
Reign is currently hiring someone to teach kindergarten. There will approximately be 8-12 total students in this class in 2025-2026. Through its hybrid learning model, Reign’s teachers deliver class-wide instruction for half days from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and in the afternoons teachers provide instruction one-on-one or in small groups to the students who decide to stay (NOTE: students are free to leave at 12:30pm if they and their parents prefer). For students who decide to learn from home in the afternoons, teachers partner with families to provide students with independent learning. Thus, full-time teachers will deliver whole-class instruction for 18 hours per week, then have additional time to serve students individually or in small groups, prepare lessons, manage instructional duties, participate in professional development, and chaperone community activities. On Fridays, students are offered enrichment opportunities, driven by volunteer instructors, and Reign faculty. Teachers are able to spend most of the day in lesson prep, staff meeting, professional development, etc.
Reign is seeking teachers with experience delivering a classical curriculum to students in grades K-8 and liberal arts degrees in such focus areas as humanities, history, economics, and political science from reputable colleges and universities. Previous teaching experience at high quality elementary and secondary schools is valued. Reign is seeking virtuous educators with a high level of integrity, enthusiasm, diligence, and teaching aptitude who feel called to specialize in the noble profession of teaching and forming young hearts, minds, and souls.
