Job Summary: The Line Operator is responsible for safely operating production equipment within the manufacturing facility and ensuring that quality products are produced timely and efficiently.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Operates production equipment efficiently according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and food/employee safety requirements and guidelines to meet daily labor and waste goals as planned and driven by management
- Utilizes Digital Production System (Redzone) to track downtime, perform quality compliance documents and communicate with support functions
- Completes change overs for their assigned equipment and/or production line
- Learns and maintains customer standards for product specifications and acceptable quality
- Reads and follows instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications
- Accurately completes all quality, traceability, and production paperwork
- Reports any product deficiencies, food or safety concerns to supervisor
- Performs minor equipment adjustments to ensure equipment is operating optimally
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and assists with product change overs
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and ensures all tools are accounted for
- Follows all safety procedures and actively participates in safety training and safety system ownership initiatives
- Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person; reports any injury, accident and/or unsafe condition to supervisor immediately
- Supports and complies with GMPs; understands and follows emergency action plan
- Supports foods safety, quality and legality
- Ensures the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience: The minimum requirements below are representative of the education and experience required to perform this job successfully.
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of machine operating/production experience preferred
Qualification/Skills: The skills listed below are representative of the technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills required to meet the job qualifications for this position.
- Technical skills include the ability to start and stop equipment, complete a changeover, and operate one piece of equipment
- Interpersonal skills include good verbal and written communication, good time management skills and the ability to follow rules and directions
- Leadership skills include a positive attitude, being a team player and self-leadership
