2nd Shift Hours: Monday-Thursday 2:00pm-1:00am
Location: Luzianne Tea Manufacturing Plant at 5601 Chef Menteur Highway
Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely troubleshooting, repairing and installing equipment within the manufacturing facility and ensuring that quality products are produced timely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of hand tools
- Troubleshoots and safely repairs basic mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and components
- Effectively prioritizes equipment issues in order of importance, manage downtime, and communicates issues to peers and leadership; escalates issues to experts or external resources as needed
- Utilizes Digital Production System (Redzone) to track assigned actions, updates peers, and communicates with departments
- Reads and interprets equipment drawings and OEM Manuals for packaging equipment
- Reads and follows instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications
- Accurately completes all work order and quality paperwork
- Enforces Reily Foods Engineering & Purchasing Standards
- Reports environmental, health, and safety concerns to leadership
- Must be flexible with weekly work schedule to troubleshoot and fix issues as they arise in a timely manner to allow production to meet business demands
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and maintenance shop
- Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training; maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person; reports any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition
- Supports and complies with GMPs; understands and follows emergency action plan
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Technical certification preferred
- 3 years of manufacturing facility maintenance experience
- Basic technical skills include Mechanical, Troubleshooting, Pneumatics, Fluid Power, Hand Tools
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
- Self-directed team player with ability to communicate effectively and complete projects in a timely manner
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of rotating on Saturdays when needed
- Strong safety awareness
- Positive attitude with ability to follow rules and directions
