Description:
The Sr. Quality Assurance Manager ensures the culture, systems, and capabilities exist to deliver outstanding results in quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance at the Knoxville site. They will further drive process improvements and cost containment initiatives, and partner cross functionally to meet innovation and corporate objectives.
- Evaluate quality and operational capability to provide food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed both internal and external customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Improve or develop new systems using quality tools to ensure continual improvement vs. customer requirements, product specifications, and company objectives.
- Manage all Food Safety programs at the facility and ensure updates are meeting compliance regulations. Research and provide training to site employees on changes to FDA requirements
- Maintain Global Food Safety Initiative certification and all other 3rd party audit certifications with an excellent score rating and investigate any non-conformances or observations noted and resolve using quality system management tools
- Prioritize quality goals around complaints and internal out of specs results and create project timelines and clear goals on reducing and eliminating quality-related losses
- Utilize Lean, process capability and SPC tools to trend, analyze and make improvements to quality related processes
- Work seamlessly with other functions to improve quality , reduce cost, and implement new products at site
- Set and manage the site QA budget to deliver or exceed site financial goals
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Engineering
- 10 -15 years of progressive leadership in food or pharmaceutical operations
- Minimum Green Belt Certification in Lean, SPC or similar
- Project Management Certification Preferred
- Some travel required
- Required to be onsite at plant
- Has successfully managed and developed multiple direct reports
