Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in various settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of patient assessment, care procedures, and effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals and support patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments to monitor health status and report any changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusions and catheter care.
- Provide care for patients undergoing dialysis, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Assist in discharge planning by educating patients and families on post-care instructions.
- Deliver specialized care in areas such as ophthalmology and occupational health as needed.
- Support the nursing team with toddler care and other pediatric needs, demonstrating experience with children.
- Utilize electronic health record systems like Epic for documentation and patient management.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients while adhering to infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in patient assessment, IV infusion, catheter care, and discharge planning.
- Familiarity with specialized fields such as ophthalmology or occupational health is preferred.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
