We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care within our ophthalmology practice. Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary examinations, including taking patient histories and performing vision tests.
- Assist the ophthalmologist during examinations and procedures.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment to gather data for patient assessments.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide education to patients regarding their conditions and treatment options.
- Manage front desk responsibilities, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical area and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office environment is preferred, with specific experience in ophthalmology being a plus.
- Familiarity with pediatric care is advantageous.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Strong skills in patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Basic understanding of retail math for managing inventory or billing processes.
- Proficient knowledge of physiology related to eye health is beneficial.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic is desirable.
- Basic understanding of medical billing processes is a plus.

Pay: $23.90 - $25.30 per hour
