Description
The purpose of the Outside Shipper/Receiver/Parts Bundler position is to verify the correctness of incoming shipments; to insure distribution of received materials to the appropriate department; and to gather, prepare, stage, and load finished goods for deliveries onto outbound trailers. Will also identify and bundle irrigation pipe and will stage, box and load international shipments.
- Must be capable of determining accuracy and condition of inbound deliveries and outbound customer shipments. May be required to reconcile materials received to purchase orders within the computer system.
- Must be able to accurately identify, count, transfer and place component part inventories at designated locations.
- Must be able to demonstrate a positive company image to outside entities as may be required to interact with transportation and freight companies.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools correctly if required.
- Must be able to run a forklift and secure a forklift license if required.
- Must be familiar and cognizant of safety guidelines throughout the company.
- Must maintain a good attendance and punctuality record.
- Must be able to read and interpret load lists, packing lists, bill of lading, and shipping paperwork.
- Must be able to use and understand various specialized measuring tools and equipment unique to the job i.e. staplers, shrink-wrap, paper machines, chainsaws, and other ordinary hand tools.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, as they may interact with other departments, and management of the company, and the general public.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision and show/demonstrate initiative, tact, good judgement and sound reasoning.
- Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position.
- Must have neat and legible handwriting.
- May require the ability to learn and use the company’s computer system to identify company and customer’s trailers.
- Will perform other related duties as directed by supervision.
