*Job Summary*
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bulk Commodity Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our 3rd party truck and railcar logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the logistics side of the commodity trade fulfillment process, from scheduling, to carrier rate negotiation, to loading paperwork generation and load tracking. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to effectively coordinate between various departments and external partners.
*Duties*
- Negotiate rates and schedule shipments with new and existing 3rd party trucking providers.
- Manage and direct a growing fleet of 20 railcars.
- Manage the logistics aspects of commodity trades incuding scheduling, booking, and document generation.
- Keep both clients and coworkers up to date on shipping operations, rescheduling, and overal contract fullfillment rates.
- Collaborate with both the internal trading and accounting teams, as well as vendor and customer logistics teams.
- Utilize internally developed trade management systems to record and share key transaction data.
*Experience*
- Proven experience in logistics management or a related field is required.
- Experience in 3rd party fleet management and bulk (full truck/railcar) liquid handling will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes is critical for success in this role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex logistical challenges effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for collaboration across departments.
- A background in managing teams within a distribution center environment is advantageous.
