Job Summary:
The Assistant Head of Admissions supports the Head of Admissions in all aspects of the admissions process, with a focus on prospective parent communication and interaction. This role serves as a primary contact for prospective families, leading tours, guiding them through the admissions process, and contributing to admissions-related marketing and communication efforts. The Assistant Head of Admissions also plays a key role in student and family retention initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Committed Christian who demonstrates a Christ-centered lifestyle.
- Active member in good standing of a local church.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with prospective families and school constituents.
- Passion for Rejoice Christian School and its mission, with the ability to represent it effectively to prospective families.
- Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and school-related software platforms, social media, and learning management systems.
- Knowledge and experience working within a school environment is preferred.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Functions:
Prospective Family Engagement & Admissions Process
- Serve as a primary contact for prospective families, leading tours, answering inquiries, and providing excellent customer service.
- Assist prospective parents through the entire admissions process by proactively providing information, communicating clearly and empathetically, and effectively sharing the mission of RCS.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of admissions timelines, financial aid options, tax credits, and school policies to provide accurate and helpful guidance to families.
- Assist in creating and maintaining online admissions portals, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience for applicants.
- Work closely with the Admissions Assistant to organize screening and interview data, ensuring administrative staff have necessary materials prepared.
Retention & Marketing Support
- Support the Head of Admissions in student and family retention efforts, helping to foster strong relationships with current families.
- Assist in planning and executing admissions-related events, such as open houses, campus tours, and new family welcome initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to support admissions-focused marketing and communication efforts.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Work with the Admissions Assistant to maintain and organize student records, including birth certificates, immunization records, and educational documentation.
- Assist in the collection and maintenance of enrolled student data, including academic records and standardized testing results.
- Ensure that all admissions documentation is accurate, organized, and accessible for administrative review.
- Support the Head of Admissions with additional tasks and projects as needed.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
- This is a safety-sensitive position; employees may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a desk or computer.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, via phone, and email.
