Part-Time Group Fitness Instructor – Waite Park, MN location
Rejuv Medical is looking for a part-time, highly motivated Group Fitness Instructor to join our amazing team. The hourly pay range is $20 to $28 based on experience with a $1,000 retention bonus!

Essential Functions:
· Develop and deliver class plans: Create structured workout routines that incorporate a variety of exercises, including cardio, strength training, flexibility, and stretching, tailored to the class level and goals. Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies. Knowledge of choreography and music skills if teaching a dance-based class.
· Provide clear instruction: Demonstrate exercises with proper form and technique, verbally cueing participants throughout the class, and addressing any questions or concerns.
· Monitor participants: Observe participants during class to ensure they are performing exercises safely and appropriately, offering modifications or adjustments as needed.
· Motivate and encourage: Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude to engage participants, provide encouragement, and promote a sense of community.
· Adapt to diverse needs: Recognize and accommodate different fitness levels, abilities, and limitations of participants within the class.
· Maintain safety standards: Ensure the fitness space is properly set up with equipment, following safety protocols, and addressing any potential hazards. Ensure the safety of members and guests by enforcing all rules and policies.
Required skills:
· Strong understanding of exercise science: Knowledge of proper body mechanics, exercise physiology, and the impact of different exercises on the body. Stays abreast of the latest trends and techniques in areas of expertise. Evaluates class effectiveness and recommends new classes or techniques.
· Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly explain exercises, provide effective cues, and answer questions from participants.
· Leadership qualities: Confidence in leading a group, motivate participants, and create a positive class environment.
· Adaptability: Ability to adjust exercises based on participant needs and class dynamics. Modify class activities for various participants based on skill levels.
· Physical fitness: Demonstrate a good level of physical fitness to lead classes effectively.
· Educate clients on behavior modification related to a healthy lifestyle, such as stress management, weight control, and athletic performance.
· Act as a resource for people using the fitness center space.
· Conduct research and provide instruction on subject matter related to athletic training or projects related to people working on weight loss.
· Assist and participate in outreach and community activities including marketing projects, lunch-and-learns, etc. as determined by the Fitness Manager or other leadership, as assigned.
· Spend adequate time prepping for class sessions to include clean-up.
· Attend all mandatory team training sessions/meetings and all staff in-service meetings.
· Provide suggestions to leadership regarding client recruitment strategies and opportunities to improve community engagement, department growth, innovative program and course recommendations, and overall personal and organizational growth and development.
· Assist in building and developing a viable and resourceful virtual training program.
· Set up and take down required program equipment including exercise and audio equipment.
· Ensure classes begin and end on time and respect the time of other instructors and trainers.
· Maintain frequent communication with other staff members and report any issues or concerns with inventory, facility conditions, policies and incidents to the supervisory staff as needed.
· Maintain all required certifications, continuing education, and trainings.
Qualifications/Experience:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Two years of related experience, group exercise, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Group Fitness preferred.
· Group Fitness or Personal Training Certification from an accredited institution from a reputable organization such as ACE, AFAA, or NASM.
· If only a PT certification, must have experience with group exercise instruction.
· Current nationally accredited personal training Group Fitness and/or Personal Training certificate.
· Current CPR and AED certificate preferred.
· Basic knowledge of exercise equipment function.
· Basic computer and Microsoft Office knowledge. Ability to effectively navigate Rejuv’s membership software for class management.
· Higher level understanding of good nutrition and the ability to promote, train, lead, and motivate clients into a healthy nutrition-based lifestyle.
· Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
· High degree of energy, and endurance to complete the workout.
· Tolerate loud music and gym facility equipment.
· Ability to work and cooperate with staff members including the clinic-side of Rejuv.
