Phlebotomist

Rejuvenating Fertility Center is Manhattan and Connecticutʼs first non-conventional IVF center, founded by world-renowned Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist Dr. Zaher Merhi. Although Dr. Merhi has served Manhattan residents as an award-winning fertility expert for over 10 years, he has seen the shift in demands from his patients for excellent fertility centers (using non-conventional treatments) outside of the major cities. That is why he opened New RFC locations in Connecticut, Long Island, Westchester and Brooklyn.

Job Title: Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist

Perform the following duties:

• Works as part of a team to ensure patient care

• Upload patient medical records and enter lab results 

• Measure vital signs 

• Updates all patient medical/surgical/family history, medications and allergies 

• Preps and assists numerous surgical procedures such as egg retrievals, D&Cs, endometrial biopsies, hysteroscopies and others. 

• Provide instructions to patients as instructed by physician or nurse 

• Supporting clinical team, front desk coverage as needed 

• Maintain and clean exam rooms and procedure rooms 

• Maintain all logs and perform required checks

• Cleans and stocks patient examination rooms and supply areas. 

• Follows infection control practices. 

• Regular and reliable attendance. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

• Phlebotomy (draw and label blood tubes) 

• Send out bloods and specimens to outside labs as needed 

• Wash and autoclave instruments

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED 

• Experience as a medical assistant preferred in fertility or obstetrics/gynecology, but not required 

• Current CPR/BLS certification 

• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

• Excellent customer service skills and must enjoy serving patients and interacting with them. 

• 2 years of experience in a professional work environment, healthcare preferred. 

• Strong attention to detail 

• Exhibit courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of internal and external customers and displays a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations. 

• Strong ethics and high level of personal and professional integrity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle or fell objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds. Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computer. Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Location: Westport, CT

Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 hourly; based upon education and experience
