POSITION: Production/ Product Manager - Plastics and Electronics
DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain REPORTS TO: Associate Director Sourcing & Production
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production/Product Manager with expertise in manufacturing processes involving plastics, electronics and mechanisms particularly in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing production with international manufacturers, including partners in China, India, and other global locations, ensuring high-quality products, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
- Manage and oversee end-to-end production processes for products involving plastic tooled components, mechanisms and electronics.
- Partner with the Brand and Product Development team to help move from Idea to Prototype. Be the expert voice on “design for manufacturability" and guide the development teams to optimize product and material based on your expertise wrt the manufacturing processes involved.
- Partner with plants in Asia to translate requirements, problem solve and ensure “first time right”. Guide plants on best practices to ensure high quality products at optimal costs.
- Partner with the Planning team and manage timelines for all innovations and product changes. Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality, cost efficiency, and safety standards.
- Monitor and optimize workflows, reducing waste and maximizing productivity.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with global manufacturers, including partners in China, India, and other regions.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products
- Manage the Procure to Pay process in NetSuite - PO release to PO closure
- Plan and manage quality audits and resolve manufacturing issues.:
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures for all stages of production.
- Ensure adherence to product specifications and compliance with regulatory standards in collaboration with the QC Lead
- Address and resolve production defects or issues promptly.
Material Expertise:
- Leverage expertise in working with plastics, mechanisms including molding, durability testing, and finishing techniques.
- Stay updated on industry innovations in plastics, and silicone manufacturing and other material processes to improve product quality and efficiency.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process innovation and implement best practices in manufacturing.
- Introduce new production technologies or techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Cost Management:
- Develop and manage production budgets, tracking costs to ensure projects stay within financial targets.
- Source cost-effective materials, including silicone, without compromising quality.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all production activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Implement and monitor workplace safety programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in production management, preferably in CPG manufacturing. Toy industry experience is a plus.
- Expertise in working with plastics, silicone, and electronics manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience managing production with international manufacturers, especially in China, India, Vietnam, and other global locations.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and other production management tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the CPG industry.
- Outstanding leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

The Legal bits:
The salary range for this role is $85,000.00- $105,000.00 annually, plus eligible for an annual target bonus prorated from the start date. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation ra
