Relate & Grow has part time openings to work one-on-one as a "PLAY Tutor" with children with autism and other special needs in central Ohio. PLAY Tutors are one-on-one aides who provide intensive, play-based intervention. Each PLAY Tutor receives ongoing training and consultation on The PLAY Project and DIR Floortime methods and techniques, which are recommended by a certified DIR or PLAY Project Consultant supervising the work with the child. PLAY Tutors may also work with the child on education goals under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Intervention Specialist.
The PLAY Project and DIR Floortime are developmental, relationship-based interventions that follow the child's interests as a means to improve social-emotional difficulties as well as developmental and learning gaps.
PLAY Tutor responsibilities include: applying PLAY Project and DIR methods and techniques within fun, play-based intensive intervention sessions with the child, supporting the child's learning, tracking performance data, reporting to the Relate & Grow consultant, participating in ongoing training with the consultant and directly supervising the child when in their care.
