What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Superintendent position at Related?
- Responsible for maintaining highest standards of safety on site and ensuring adherence to all safety policies.
- Review and be familiar with all scopes of work, schedule and budget to make every effort to ensure adherence to deliverables, including recommendations for improved efficiencies or savings.
- Understand and enforce Subcontractor’s contractual obligations.
- Drive the execution of the work by preparing and updating progress schedules, daily progress reports, two-week look ahead schedule and ensure sufficient, qualified manpower is being provided by Subcontractors.
- Coordinate and oversee all Work on site including Subcontractors, field personnel, site logistics, deliveries and installation.
- Ensure all inquiries and concerns of the client are addressed immediately.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process.
- Maintain necessary records for all site personnel including construction documents, photos, sketches, RFI’s, Submittals, Daily Field Reports, etc.
- Lead all job site project meetings and address any open items that may impact safety, progress and/or quality.
- Represent the Company in its relations with inspecting authorities and ensure authorities having jurisdiction are apprised of the project requirements related to their duties. Cooperate with inspecting authorities to ensure timely approvals.
- Assist in representing the Company in its relations with Owner, Architect, and Management Company to communicate logistics, schedules, shut-downs, safety, and processes as required to facilitate an effective job site.
- Lead in preparation and completion of punch-list items.
- Significant construction site management experience. A focus on occupied, multifamily residential renovations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of architectural, structural and MEP systems.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communication and collaborate in writing and verbally
- Excels as a decision maker and leader throughout the entire construction process.
- Degree in one of the following disciplines is preferred, not required: Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Management, Architecture, other related fields or experience.
- Experienced at utilizing Microsoft Project (or sim), Microsoft office and online project management systems (ACC Build, Procore, or sim).
- Superintendents are required to have completed the OSHA thirty (30) hour safety awareness training within the last two years or complete the training within 60 days of the hire date.
