What are the responsibilities and job description for the HRIS Director position at Related?
The HRIS Director will oversee the standardization, management, and continuous improvement of the Human Capital Management systems across the organization. This position will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, optimizing HR processes, and driving efficiency through technology solutions. This individual will lead the HRIS team directly and indirectly, collaborate across HR, IT, Payroll, and Business leaders. This role will ensure that the UKG platform is fully integrated into Related’s HR strategy and operations, as well as with other core HR systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical configuration, testing, and operational excellence of the UKG HRIS and time management system. Your hands-on technical skills will be essential in implementing and optimizing our HR technology ecosystem while supporting various initiatives that advance our people strategy across Related. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Data Management
- Understand and analyze data within HR systems and downstream impacts including UKG Pro, Cornerstone, and iCIMS
- Maintain employee data within the HRIS and periodically perform mass data uploads, including personal information, job details, and compensation
- Regularly review and update employee data to maintain accuracy and compliance
- Monitor data quality and identify discrepancies to resolve issues promptly
System Administration
- Configure and customize the HRIS to align with organizational HR policies and procedures
- Manage user access levels and security protocols
- Lead Request for Proposals (RFPs) and implementation processes for new HRIS solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs, budget, and compliance requirements
Payroll Integration
- Ensure seamless integration between the HRIS and payroll system, including accurate transfer of employee data for payroll processing (including benefit deductions)
- Monitor payroll data for accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Assist with payroll processing (imports/mass uploads, break fix) and BI reporting
- Assist with payroll related inquiries and issues
Reporting and Analysis
- Manage and maintain core application reports including custom, scheduled, ad-hoc, and compliance reporting
- Communicate with all levels of the business; gather reporting requirements, document functional and technical designs for reports; identify when core reports should be consumed versus custom reports and provide best practice recommendations
- Fulfill all data requests for executive team; headcount reports and other key metrics, federal reporting and compliance reports (BLS, EEO and Affirmative Action reporting)
- Analyze data to identify trends and provide insights to inform strategic HR decisions
User Support
- Provide training and support to HR staff and employees on how to effectively use the HRIS system
- Address user queries, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical assistance
- Determine business requirements and implement manager dashboards for the businesses based on needs and priorities
Compliance and Audit
- Manage the data integrity of HR systems by performing regular audits and data quality exception reporting
- Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy and labor laws related to employee information within the HRIS
Compensation
- $140,000 - $175,000 / year
- Annual performance based bonus
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field, Master's Degree is a plus
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HR Operations and/or HR Systems
- Expertise in HRIS platforms, database systems and/or HR related technologies, UKG experience is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Cognos BI Reporting. SQL experience is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of core HR transaction processes, including organizational management, benefits, new hire, separation, leave management, workers compensation, time and attendance, and compliance (federal, state, local laws and regulations)
- Demonstrated understanding of HR processes and practices with experience in creating HR process mapping through the complete employee lifecycle
- Strong HR acumen and technical aptitude, with proven experience in measurement, data analysis, data accuracy, and interpretation
- Highly capable in delivering and presenting technical information in a consumable format to drive decisions
- Exceptional attention to detail, team player, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communications as well as leadership and client relationship skills
- A professional approach to dealing with issues of a confidential nature
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced environment, and to adapt quickly to changing priorities
