Job Summary: The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting both eletrical systems as well as low voltage building automation systems. A key aspect of this role involves embracing and learning the company’s protocols, while also actively contributing expertise to enhance team knowledge. Given the significance of being the primary contact for clients, strong communication skills are imperative, aligning with the company’s top priority. This position reports to the MEP Manager.
Primary Duties:
Installing and repairing electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings.
Installing conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
Installing circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connecting wiring.
Ensuring piping complies with electrical codes.
Inspecting electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
Replacing conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Skills:
Ability to read blueprints.
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Proficiency in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and manage effectively.
Must be able to uphold the highest level of confidentiality with client relationships.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn company software including Slack and Google Calendars/Docs/Sheets.
Works well under stressful situations.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a formal apprenticeship with licensing required.
Atleast four years of experience in the electrical trade.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn company software, including Slack, Google Calendars/Docs/Sheets, and Housecall Pro.
Licenses & Certificates:
Valid drivers license.
Valid NH Journeyman Electricial license required.
Physical Requirements:
Physical strength when performing heavy labor is required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Prolonged periods of bending, reaching, climbing ladders, pulling wires and cables, crouching, and other related physical activities. Ability to discern color-coded wiring.
