Job Summary: The Mason builds structures using brick, stone, or concrete blocks by reading blueprints, mixing mortar, cutting and laying materials with precision, while ensuring projects meet specifications. This role requires knowledge of basic masonry techniques, tools, and safety protocols. This role involves working on a variety of residential and commercial projects, including foundations, walls, patios, and decorative stonework. This position has no direct reports.
Primary Duties:
Precisely cut bricks, stones, or blocks to fit specific areas and lay them according to design.
Read and interpret blueprints to accurately understand project plans and scope of work.
Prepare mortar used to bind masonry materials together, ensuring the correct consistency for the job.
Inspect work to ensure proper alignment, levelness, and structural integrity.
Construct and safely utilize scaffolding and tents to create a covered workspace to ensure job security through rain, snow, and other elements.
Manage work order and purchase order processes as outlined by Relax & Co protocols.
Follow all health and safety regulations including use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Act as the eyes and ears for the Lead Mason while in the field, reporting back and helping to identify issues and solutions proactively.

Must be adaptable and a problem solver.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Understanding of construction techniques and building codes.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Basic math skills for calculations and measurements.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical/vocational school program preferred.
Experience:
Three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely work at heights.
Prolonged periods of standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
Physical strength when performing heavy labor is required. Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
Physical stamina to handle the long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather.
