Job Summary: The Small Projects Field Carpenter independently manages and executes a variety of small-scale construction and home improvement projects from frame to finish with precision and craftsmanship. This role involves working directly with clients to understand their needs and execute projects according to blueprints or sketches. The Small Projects Field Carpenter operates independently and does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Primary Duties:
Manage and complete small-scale projects, including light construction, remodeling, installations, repairs, and custom carpentry.
Provide direct client interaction with a strong focus on customer service.
Adhere to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
Read and interpret blueprints and design specifications to ensure accurate project execution.
Maintain and inspect company equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
Load and unload materials and supplies as needed for projects.
Manage work order and purchase order processes as outlined by company protocols.
Communicate project updates and material needs to management.
Skills:
Strong mechanical skills to operate equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Working knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot repairs.
Must work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
Excellent communication and listening skills are necessary.
Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn company software including Slack, Google Suite, and Housecall Pro.
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
3-5 years of carpentry or construction experience.
Licenses & Certificates:
Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
Physical stamina for outdoor and indoor projects in various weather conditions.
Prolonged periods of standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
Must have manual dexterity, good balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds as needed.
