Position Overview:
As a Community Intervention Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the Social Services Department, supporting families as they work toward reunification and compliance with court orders. You will provide positive guidance, resources, and skills to help maintain family unity and stability while ensuring safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with families in their homes to maintain safety and prevent unnecessary disruptions or separations.
- Collaborate with parents, foster parents, youth, and other professionals in home and community settings.
- Provide parenting skills, life skills training, and positive support to clients.
- Assist children and families in identifying community resources and developing support systems.
- Collaborate with other service providers to deliver comprehensive care.
- Utilize professional assessment tools to develop individualized treatment plans based on client strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
- Document all interactions with clients accurately, submitting monthly reports to the appropriate assigning agency.
- Meet weekly with a supervisor to review client progress and adjust care strategies as needed.
- Complete initial required training before working with families and accrue a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education annually.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in social work or a related field.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Ability to manage conflict and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
- Skill in identifying family strengths and fostering independence in families.
- Clear background check and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
Preferred:
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Pay: $21.63/hour bonus opportunities
