Responsibilities of the AI Medical Coding Auditor :

This role is integral to our mission of advancing medical coding AI practices. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of medical coding, healthcare compliance, and AI driven coding systems. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine coding processes, enhance AI accuracy, and ensure adherence to industry regulations.

Medical Coding Expertise :

Analyze and code complex patient records using standardized coding systems (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS) for outpatient and / or inpatient encounters.
Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure coding accuracy and consistency.
Provide insights to enhance AI-based coding algorithms, identifying patterns and refining processes.

AI and Technology Integration :

Collaborate with AI development teams to train and improve coding algorithms.

Test and validate MCC's autonomous medical coding platform to ensure its compliance with guidelines and evolving medical practices.

Offer feedback for optimizing the integration of AI software with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

Compliance and Regulation Adherence :

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations (e.g., AMA, HCPCS, HIPAA, CMS coding guidelines).

Ensure coding processes align with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.

Support audits by providing detailed documentation and ensuring compliance readiness.

Collaboration and Training :

Work with healthcare providers, billing teams, and compliance officers to resolve coding issues and enhance workflows.

Lead training sessions for staff on coding updates, AI tools, and best practices.

Act as a subject matter expert, contributing to white papers, reports, and industry presentations.

Requirements of the AI Medical Coding Auditor :

Minimum 5 years of hands-on medical coding experience, including familiarity with AI-driven tools or EHR systems.

3 years multi-Specialty coding experience; specialty certification preferred.

Proficiency in coding systems (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, RxNORM).

Understanding of AI principles in medical coding, including machine learning applications.

Experience with medical coding software and EHR platforms.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Experience in autonomous coding systems or medical coding AI implementation.

Familiarity with coding audits and compliance processes.

Background in data analytics or reporting tools.

Certification :

CPC, COC, CCS, CPMA or equivalent.

Other Key Requirements :

Hybrid Must be able to be in office for training.

No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
