Overview
LALIGA North America is a joint venture between LALIGA, Spain’s top-flight soccer competition, and Relevent Sports, a multinational media, sports and entertainment group. The JV is dedicated to promoting soccer in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, driving LALIGA’s growth in the region through multi-platform content, consumer activations, grassroots soccer initiatives, exhibition matches, and more.
LALIGA North America is searching for a Head of Business Operations, a key member of the executive team responsible for overseeing the company’s business planning, financial management, corporate reporting, and strategic growth initiatives. This role works closely with the CEO and senior leadership to drive business and financial strategy, optimize budgeting processes, and ensure overall business performance. Additionally, the role plays a critical part in improving operational efficiency and ensuring the organization is well-positioned for long-term growth. This is a dynamic role that requires exceptional project management skills, the ability to adapt to shifting priorities, and the flexibility to balance both strategic projects and day-to-day responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities
•Work with the CEO in developing and executing overall business strategy, ensuring alignment across all business units and long-term objectives
•Own the LALIGA North America Business Plan, managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy.
•Oversee P&L management, ensuring accurate tracking of revenues and costs while optimizing financial performance
•Prepare CEO and Board-level reports, including quarterly, mid-year and end-of-year updates, as well as ad-hoc strategic presentations
•Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring informed decision-making on key investments, cost management, and business priorities
•Support the evaluation of strategic growth opportunities, including new revenue initiatives and operational efficiencies
•Serve as the primary liaison with the LALIGA Spain HQ finance and planning teams, managing financial reporting, budget updates, forecasts, and compliance with HQ requirements
Desired Skills & Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred, but not required
•7-10 years of experience in strategy, business operations, finance, and/or strategic planning within the sports, media, or entertainment industries
•Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
•Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines
•Extensive experience creating C-suite and board-level presentations and reports
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise across multiple teams and senior leadership
•High level of discretion and confidentiality, with experience handling sensitive business and financial information at the executive level
•Knowledge of the sports industry—global and domestic soccer experience preferred
•Strong command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including financial modeling, scenario planning, data analysis, and high-quality executive presentation design.
•Proficiency in financial reporting tools
•Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
Salary Range: $170,000-$200,000 performance bonus
