Role Summary:
The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the commercial insurance division at RELI Exchange. This role involves supporting Agency Partners, managing commercial policies, providing underwriting assistance, and driving revenue growth. The Commercial Manager will also play a key role in training partners, maintaining carrier relationships, and ensuring the company's competitive position in the market.
Key Responsibilities:1. Communication & Partner Support
- Serve as the primary contact for Agency Partners and current clientsregarding commercial insurance inquiries, quoting, renewals, and servicing.
- Provide ongoing education and support to Agency Partners on commercial insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and quoting tools.
- Ensure timely responses and resolution of partner questions via phone, email, and virtual meetings.
2. Policy Servicing & Underwriting Assistance
- Verify coverage and issue Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
- Assist Agency Partners in evaluating risk and selecting appropriate coverage options.
- Ensure compliance with carrier underwriting guidelines and company policies.
3. Quoting & Sales Enablement
- Provide and manage commercial quotes for risks submitted by Agency Partners and current clients.
- Work closely with carriers to ensure accurate pricing and competitive offerings.
- Prepare Finance Agreements as required, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Follow up on all issued quotes and proactively convert pending opportunities into bound policies to maximize revenue.
4. Renewals & Revenue Growth
- Prepare, present, and bind current clients renewals in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to drive additional revenue by incorporating appropriate fees on quoted business.
- Implement strategies to increase retention rates and grow premium volume.
5. Agency Partner Training & Relationship Management
- Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions via phone, email, and video conferencing to educate Agency Partners on commercial insurance best practices.
- Assist new and existing Agency Partners in expanding their commercial book of business through structured learning programs.
Future Responsibilities:6. Training & Technology Adoption
- Assist in training Agency Partners on the Commercial segment of their portals, ensuring proper use of tools and resources.
- Identify gaps in agent knowledge and implement targeted training programs to improve performance.
7. Carrier & Market Strategy
- Serve as the primary contact for Commercial Carrier relationships, maintaining strong partnerships and optimizing underwriting efficiency.
- Regularly review competitor carrier/product offerings to ensure RELI Exchange remains competitive in the commercial insurance space.
- Identify and recommend new carrier appointments to expand RELI’s commercial market reach.
8. Operational & Process Improvements
- Continuously assess and refine internal processes to increase efficiency and reduce turnaround times on quotes, COIs, and policy issuance.
- Work with leadership to implement new workflows and technology solutions to enhance commercial operations.
Performance Metrics:
To ensure accountability and success in this role, the following key performance indicators will be tracked:
- Quote Turnaround Time – Time taken from submission to quote issuance.
- Quote-to-Bind Ratio – % of quotes converted into active policies.
- Revenue Growth – Increase in commercial business premiums and fees.
- Partner Training Impact – Growth in commercial policies written by trained Agency Partners.
- Carrier Engagement – Number of active carrier relationships and added market options.
Reporting & Approval Process:
- The Commercial Manager reports directly to COO, RELI Exchange.
- Regular performance reviews will be conducted to ensure progress toward business objectives.
Expectations:
- The Commercial Manager is expected to work on-site at the Schaumburg, IL office to maintain team collaboration, culture, and effective execution of commercial initiatives.
- Adherence to company policies and active participation in commercial strategy execution are required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
