POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Banking Manager oversees the bank's retail operations, team members, and service delivery to consumer and commercial customers. This role is focused on ensuring an exceptional customer experience across all retail locations while driving deposit growth through strategic customer acquisition and relationship management. Additionally, the position ensures compliance with regulations and maintains effective policies and procedures for the retail banking.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ACCOUNTABILITY 1: Retail Banking Strategy and Leadership
- Implement and oversee retail banking strategies related to operations, service, and sales.
- Develop and execute plans to achieve Retail financial goals, including deposit growth, new accounts, operational efficiency, and audit quality.
- Lead and manage Retail staff.
- Conduct regular Retail team meetings to review challenges, share updates on policies and procedures, and discuss team activities.
- Represent the bank in community activities and civic organizations, enhancing its reputation and fostering business development opportunities.
ACCOUNTABILITY 2: Customer Experience
- Lead the delivery of a superior customer experience at all retail banking locations.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere that reinforces the bank’s commitment to exceptional service.
- Address and resolve customer complaints, ensuring issues are managed efficiently and in alignment with bank policies while preserving customer relationships.
- Retain existing customers by addressing account closure requests and proactively seeking resolution to retain the banking relationship.
ACCOUNTABILITY 3: Operational Excellence
- Ensure all retail locations operate efficiently, including proper opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor daily operations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
- Step into various retail roles as needed during peak business hours to maintain smooth operations.
Handle hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination recommendations for Retail staff.
ACCOUNTABILITY 4: Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to BSA large currency transaction reports and Regulation CC check holds.
- Mitigate operational losses through adherence to bank policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in retail banking, including leadership roles.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Occasional travel to other branches required.
- Ability to communicate well with customers and employees, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of lending regulations and policies.
- Understanding compliance issues and regulations.

- Maintain the integrity of highly confidential customer and bank financial information.
