Description
Reliable Fire and Security, a leading provider of electronic security services in the Chicagoland area, is seeking an experienced Senior IT and Security Technician. This role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security, surveillance, and access control systems for a wide range of commercial and residential clients. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Burglar and Fire alarm, surveillance, and access control systems, capable of working independently or as part of a team and dedicated to providing high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and support security systems, including alarm, surveillance, and access control systems for commercial applications.
- Alarm System Expertise: Install and troubleshoot alarm systems, Example Ademco, Notifier, Bosch, DMP.
- Surveillance System Management: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot surveillance systems including Avigilon, Salient, Exacq Vision, Hanwha, Open Eye and Axis cameras.
- Access Control Installation: Install and support access control systems from providers like Kantech (Entra Pass), Prmsys (Identicard) Avigilon, Aiphone, and Honeywell.
- Project Execution: Conduct end-to-end security project installations, including setting up control panels, sensors, keypads, cameras, and other security components.
- Collaborate with Project Management and Engineering: Work closely with dedicated Project Management and Engineering teams to ensure seamless installations and troubleshooting support.
- Train Support Staff: Provide training to on-call technicians on system troubleshooting and technical support.
- AV Installation: Perform AV rough-in and installation work as part of larger security system setups.
- Customer Interaction: Demonstrate systems for customers, explaining functionality, alarm causes, and troubleshooting details.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security systems in commercial settings.
- System Knowledge: Strong familiarity with key alarm and surveillance systems, Ademco, Honeywell, Bosch, Notifier, Firelight, DMP, and various surveillance systems. Having the Knowledge of IP based network systems work and operate. Fiber experience a plus.
- Technical Skills: Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve system issues. Skilled in programming control panels, keypads, and remote access applications.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift to 50 lbs., work on ladders, and in confined spaces (e.g., attics and crawl spaces).
- License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; PERC card a must.
- Work Ethic and Attitude: Creative, solution-oriented, positive, and focused approach to problem-solving. Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- Technical Certifications: Certification in Video Surveillance and Access Control is a plus.
- NIcet Fire Certifications: NIcet Fire 1, 2 ,3 will be a plus.
