Reliable Fleet Services provides premier intermodal equipment maintenance and Over The Road repair as part of the Marine Repair Services – Container Maintenance Corporation family. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic operations team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe movement of equipment within our yard. The ideal candidate will have a background in operating heavy equipment, with a focus on yard jockeys and chassis flippers in the intermodal industry. This role will also participate in learning about in gate and out gate operations, to help promote a culture of cross-training.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Movement: Safely and efficiently move equipment within the yard, ensuring timely and organized operations.
Gate Operation: Learning our gate system and conducting all gate operations
Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team to coordinate equipment movements and ensure smooth workflow.
Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate various heavy equipment, including yard jockeys and chassis flippers, to meet operational demands.
Routine Equipment Checks: Perform regular inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
Yard Organization and Logistics: Assist in maintaining a well-organized yard, optimizing space and accessibility of equipment. Also will be delivering parts to our techs on site.
Mechanic Tasks: willing to learn of currently has mechanic experience.
Requirements:
Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience - 1 year of intermodal experience preferred, with a focus on operating yard jockeys and chassis flippers.
Skills:
Great depth perception and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
Good eyesight and spatial awareness for safe equipment operation.
Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong driving skills with a focus on safety.
Great driving record required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
