Position Details
- Location: East Liberty, Pittsburgh
- Schedule: 4:00 p.m. – 11:59 p.m., 40 hours per week

- Assistance with evening routines (such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and personal care)
- Monitoring of health and safety throughout the shift
- Proper use of a Hoyer lift (or willingness to be trained) for safe transfers
- Companionship, reassurance, and kindness
- Transportation Note:
- Public transportation (bus) is available to the client’s location in East Liberty. However, please be aware that buses in this area stop running around 10:00 p.m.
- Because your shift ends at 11:59 p.m., you must have your own reliable transportation or another plan in place to get home safely after the final bus has stopped running.
Responsibilities
As a caregiver, you will play a vital role in maintaining our client’s quality of life. Specific responsibilities include:
- Personal Care Assistance
- Supporting the client with grooming, bathing, dressing, and toileting if needed
- Ensuring medication reminders are followed accurately and on time
- Hoyer Lift Operation

- Washing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and taking out small amounts of trash if needed
- Keeping the immediate living area clean, organized, and safe

Qualifications
We believe that empathy, reliability, and a passion for helping others are often more important than any official credentials. That said, please review the following qualifications to ensure this role is a match:
- Desire to Learn or Existing Experience with a Hoyer Lift
- If you’re not already trained, we will provide the necessary instruction, but a willingness to learn and practice safe transfers is essential.
- Personal Transportation After 10:00 p.m.
- Because local buses stop running at around 10:00 p.m., you must have a reliable way to return home at the end of your shift.
- Interpersonal Skills
- Respectful communication, patience, and kindness are critical. You should be able to calmly manage situations that arise during an evening routine.
- Physical Capability
- The role involves assisting with transfers and performing light housekeeping tasks, so you must be comfortable with moderate physical activity.
- Professionalism and Dependability
- Punctuality and the ability to maintain confidentiality (following HIPAA guidelines) are absolutely necessary.
