What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic - Technician - Tanker position at Reliable Liquid Transport, Inc.?
Reliable Liquid Transport, Inc. is a privately held carrier of bulk liquid chemicals specializing in servicing refineries, utilities and industry throughout California and into the surrounding states.
We are looking for trailer mechanic/technicians. If you have no tanker trailer wrenching experience but you do have a mechanical aptitude no worries! We will train. No Tools? Ask about our Tool set incentive program.
Our technicians inspect and maintain our trailers, test hoses, follow up with driver reported equipment issues and more.
Work regularly scheduled hours Mon - Fri, plus flexibility to be on-call for break-downs after hours and weekends.
Responsibilities:
· Complete maintenance, repairs and inspections (BIT, DOT and PM) on equipment as assigned through the work order system or by supervisors and managers
· Trouble shoot, diagnose, and repair equipment in break-down situations
· Document all work in the maintenance management software
· Communicate with users of equipment to understand any frustrations of users and the nature of repairs required
Physical Demands:
- Seeing – Must be able to see well enough to use a computer and identify parts / equipment.
- Hearing – Must be able to hear well enough to communicate on the phone and in person.
- Standing/Walking/Mobility – Must be able to stand for long periods. Able to crawl underneath as well as climb on top of trucks and tankers. Able to bend and reach, for example bending over and reaching into the engine compartment of a vehicle.
- Sit – Regularly required to sit.
- Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling – Must be able to stoop and kneel for short periods of time.
- Lifting – Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Talent Requirements:
High School graduate / GED
US Work Authorization
Subject to drug and alcohol testing: pre-employment and random
Must be able to obtain a TWIC
Age 18 or older
Class C driver’s license with good driving record
Must be clean shaven to pass a respirator fit test
