SENIOR HR GENERALIST Job Description

Location:  San Antonio TX (onsite)

Position Overview: As a Senior HR Generalist, you will be a strategic partner and trusted advisor to clients and employees, ensuring compliance, streamlining HR processes, and driving organizational effectiveness. Your role is pivotal in enabling clients to achieve their goals by delivering tailored HR solutions and fostering a culture of excellence.

Key Performance Objectives

  1. Deliver Exceptional Client Support:
    • Act as a responsive and knowledgeable HR partner, addressing client and employee needs with urgency and accuracy.
    • Build trusted relationships by providing expert advice on HR compliance, best practices, and strategic workforce planning.
  2. Enhance Hiring and Onboarding Processes:
    • Train and guide clients in utilizing the applicant tracking system to attract top talent efficiently.
    • Collaborate with clients to develop and refine job descriptions that align with organizational goals.
  3. Ensure Policy and Compliance Excellence:
    • Partner with clients to create and maintain customized employee handbooks that reflect their unique culture and requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits of employee files, I-9 compliance, and leave and retirement plans to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  4. Optimize HR Systems and Processes:
    • Identify and implement efficiency improvements, cost reduction opportunities, and compliance enhancements through data analysis and client feedback.
    • Maintain and update HR systems, including Prism, to align with evolving client and company needs.
  5. Support Organizational Growth:
    • Act as a cross-functional collaborator, working with other departments to address HR-related needs and drive company-wide goals.
    • Provide backup support to the HR Generalist and HR Manager, ensuring seamless operations during peak periods or absences.

30-60-90 Day KPIs

First 30 Days:

  • Establish rapport with key client contacts and internal teams to understand their specific HR needs and challenges.
  • Complete onboarding and training on company systems (e.g., Prism, applicant tracking system).
  • Review and audit existing client files, handbooks, and compliance documentation for assigned accounts.
  • Respond to at least 90% of client and employee inquiries within the expected timeframe, demonstrating responsiveness and accuracy.

Days 31-60:

  • Take ownership of client job description reviews and updates, taking responsibility of applicant tracking for all existing clients and client onboarding.
  • Collaborate with clients to review and revise employee handbooks, completing at least 3 handbook updates.
  • Conduct an initial compliance audit for at least 5 assigned clients, identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
  • Develop and document at least 2 process improvement initiatives related to HR workflows or client support.

Days 61-90:

  • Deliver measurable improvements in process efficiency, such as reducing handbook revision time or streamlining applicant tracking system training for clients.
  • Build a pipeline of client-focused HR initiatives, presenting at least 2 actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain or exceed a 95% accuracy rate on audits of employee files, I-9s, and HRIS data.
  • Support at least 2 cross-departmental initiatives to address broader company goals and strengthen client relationships.

Success Measures

  • Consistently achieve high client satisfaction scores based on responsiveness and quality of HR support.
  • Improve process efficiency and compliance metrics, reducing errors and unnecessary costs.
  • Demonstrate measurable contributions to client hiring success and retention rates.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of HR experience, with demonstrated expertise in HRIS systems.
  • Skills:
    • Strong multitasking ability and comfort managing multiple deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Excel.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
