Job Purpose
The Billing Analyst Manager is responsible for preparing, monitoring and analyzing Billing related information and communicating trends and findings to management. Responsibilities include reporting on, analyzing and communicating data to leadership team and peer managers in relevant departments.
- Complete weekly and monthly analysis of accounts receivable. This should include but not be limited to write offs, credit adjustments, adjust allowable, recoupments, balance transfers and refunds transactions.
- Perform root cause analysis on all adjustments.
- Strategize interdepartmental communication and create action plans to reduce # of adjustments and denials.
- Implement and execute a process surrounding unapplied payments.
- Understand and review all billing workflows. Partner with billing leadership on future enhancements and projects.
- Report on denial reasons and assess whether it is a preventable denial to communicate to department managers or if they need to be escalated to the payer.
- Review allowable adjustments and periodically compare to fee schedules to ensure pricing is accurate in Brightree system.
- Review and track accounts receivable to ensure all payers are in line with acceptable DSO
- Review Brightree Patient Collections invoice to ensure charges match up with expected billings.
- Oversee and assist with implementation of departmental projects and quality improvement. (I.E. Work with department heads to coordinate new programs to assure revenue cycle flow is maximized and uninterrupted.)
- Evaluate and provide recommendations to management as needed for the development of program related initiatives, including conducting needs assessment, operational analyses and systems and/or overseeing process development.
- Review activity worklists. Identify outliers and make suggestions for process improvement.
- Create and/or update written material and documentation related to procedures and programs. May determine content of what needs to be included. (I.E. insurance guidelines and processes and procedures).
- Review, analyze and report on payer audits and recommend ideas for optimization to leadership.
- Manage the payer audit process including, but not limited to audit tracking, responses, appeals and overall success rate. Communicate findings to management.
Basic Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require work authorization from us now or in the future
- Bachelors Degree required
- 5 years experience in customer service is required
- 3 years in management or supervisory position is required
