What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Specialist position at Reliable Team Care?
The Direct Support Professional will provide a variety of services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Follow established protocol for residents' personal care, including hygiene, special dietary requirements and medical needs.
- Implement and document training activities including, but not limited to: areas of behavior, self-help, daily living, social and leisure skills, community inclusion, physical and nutritional management.
- Follow protocol for administration and disposal of medications and communicate with pharmacy as needed.
- Monitor and report as needed any issues related to the personal care and medical needs, including repair needs for wheelchairs or adaptive equipment.
- If a licensed driver, operate a company vehicle/van to transport individuals as requested and complete vehicle/lift inspections
The Direct Support Professional will:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be eligible to legally work in the United States
- Successfully complete a background check
- Be able to read, write, and speak English
- Possess a valid OH Driver's License with a clean driving record (required)
- Full Coverage Car Insurance
- Be able to provide proof of educational achievement or required certifications such as a high school diploma/GED, or medical credentials
