Position Summary:
With direct supervision from a shop foreman or Service manager, a Truck shop / Field Service Technician A performs diagnostic and repairs to Allison Transmissions, transmission replacements, and driveline component repairs to class 5,6,7 and 8 commercial vehicles. This position requires knowledge of vehicle systems to perform maintenance and repair of the Allison Transmissions in these vehicles. Principal Responsibilities:
- Maintains a basic knowledge of a vehicle's mechanical and electrical systems to perform basic to advanced corrective action procedures to return vehicles back to their originally designed purpose.
- Repair Allison transmissions or replace them with remanufactured transmissions. Perform repairs or replace components within a vehicle driveline to return it to correct functionality.
- Use computer diagnostic tools and electrical repair tools to determine vehicle and transmission repairs that may be needed for the proper operation of the Allison transmission.
- Completes applicable Company training programs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a certified diesel repair program is a plus but not required.
- Completion of Allison Transmission training programs for 2000, 3000, and 4000 series transmissions is a plus but not required.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR are required; CDL class B is preferred.
- All hand tools to work on class 5 through 8 trucks is required.
