Reliance is currently seeking existing School Bus Drivers, New Bus Driver Trainees, and Trip Drivers/Trainees to join our York County, PA driving team!

School Bus Driver Trainee Basic Qualifications
- Age 25 and older
- 3 Years of driving experience (Non-CDL or CDL) – (Required)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Meet school bus driver physical requirements
- Pass all company-paid background clearances
- Mandatory Daily attendance every weekday school district is in session
- GED/High School Diploma at minimum

This position requires a reliable safety-conscious person who desires to work around children and understands the importance behind providing consistency and security to our students by maintaining an impeccable attendance record.
School Bus Driver Trainee Requirements
- Attend & successfully complete our 4-week in-house Paid School Bus Driver Training Program from 9:30AM - 1:30PM weekdays (20-hours/week)*
- Successfully pass 4 online exams to acquire CDL driving permit
- Complete 10-hours in-bus training with our certified trainer
- Pass School Bus Driver On-Road Skills Test
- All program participants obtaining a CDL are subject to signing a one-year binding contract to drive exclusively for Reliance Student Transportation to avoid reimbursement of training costs.
School Bus Driver Personal Attributes

School Bus Driver Essential Functions
· Conduct daily pre-trip safety vehicle inspection per the state-mandated guidelines
· Attend work every day school is in session
· Report operating and equipment deficiencies
· Maintain safety equipment and report unsafe bus conditions
· Adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule
· Complete required forms and reports in an accurate and timely manner
· Obey all traffic laws, adhering & complying with safety rules, motoring regulations and laws
· Transport only authorized students
· Load and unload according to established procedures
· Follow school-designated assigned route as per the Trip Detail sheet
· Ensure all students are accounted for and dropped at school-designated stop locations
· Maintain safe, structured environment on the vehicle, filing Incident Report forms with school as necessary
· Notify proper authorities if breakdown occurs or there is a deviation in route or scheduled times
· Report all accidents at the time of the occurrence, requesting help needed, completing accident reports
· Maintain clean bus interior
· Keep vehicle fueled between 50%-100% at all times
· Attend all scheduled meetings
· Perform other duties as assigned by Reliance or School District(s)
School Bus Driver Physical Demands
· Sit: 95%
· Walk/Stand: 5%
· Climbing, bending, squatting, and twisting at times
· Repetitive movements of both hands
· Grasping, reaching, handling, gripping
· Pushing and pulling up to 20 lbs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 per hour while training, Licensed Bus Drivers start at $21/hr.
