LOCATION: Bldg. 955 Business Office, Eglin AFB, FL

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The function of this position is responsible for awarding purchase orders for a wide variety of parts, materials, and special services; analyzing price quotes to determine the best vendor selection, and coordinating with end users to ensure price, delivery, terms, and technical specifications are met. Ensure purchase order files are fully documented to withstand audit. Work with suppliers with on time delivery, quality and cost objectives. Enters data into multiple computer applications. Coordinates with Accounts Payable to ensure purchase order pricing and terms are met. Organizes and implements strategies with Procurement Analysts to accomplish Small Business and Disadvantaged Plan goals.

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Accurately outline terms, conditions, delivery schedules and pricing in purchase orders.
• Research and source new vendors, where required, to ensure contractual requirements are met.
• Perform contract administration and modifications, where necessary, and assess changes and risks to determine the best overall resolution by collaborating with suppliers and technical personnel.
• Analyze data to determine the lowest possible cost, factoring quality and reliability and negotiate favorable contracts with the knowledge gleaned.
• Work with purchasing assistants to expedite open purchase orders and communicate status' to field personnel as well as internal company departments.
• Initiate change orders when required.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure purchase order pricing and terms are met.
• Collaborate with Logistics personnel to ensure materials are delivery accurately and without discrepancies.
• Accomplish assigned training, when required.
• Support the development and continual improvement of purchasing policies and procedures consistent with the contract, FAR and internal company policies.

OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• One to two years of purchasing experience, or related experience are required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in business related field is desired.
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) and Contractor Purchasing System Requirements (CPSR) is highly desired.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications and Adobe Acrobat is required.
• Costpoint experience is desirable.
• Excellent organizational and communications skills are required.
• Excellent typing and data entry skills are required.
• Must be able to use independent judgment to make purchasing decisions.
• Must be a self-starter that is able to multi-task.
• Requires high level of professionalism and work ethics.
• Current security clearance or CAC holder would be very beneficial.
• Must be adaptable to a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be able to clearly communicate with field personnel and suppliers to ensure contract requirements are met.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a National Agency Check with Investigation (NACI). Supports E-OMS operational objectives. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security, and administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area in an office setting on Eglin AFB, FL.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials and require very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials. May require sitting for long periods of time.
