CLASSIFICATION: Security Specialist
GRADE: Exempt; Regular, Full-Time
LOCATION: NRTF (White Sands Missile Range), Holloman AFB, NM – On Site
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Will be responsible for personnel security and the maintenance of personnel security files. Have a working knowledge of Government and Industrial Security policies and procedures. Must be familiar with OPSEC and COMSEC.
GENERAL DUTIES: Have a working knowledge of Government and Industrial Security policies and procedures. Must be familiar with OPSEC and COMSEC. Will be responsible for personnel security and the maintenance of personnel security files. Be proficient with the DISS/E-QIP systems. Capable of assisting employees in the preparation of security clearance paperwork (SF 86s). Proficient in processing incoming and outgoing classified visit requests. Able to conduct Security Education and Training to employees and customers. Will be available to respond as on-call person for any alarm activations. Will participate in audits, inspections and investigations. Should possess a thorough knowledge of the Hirsch Security System and Velocity Software. Must be able to in-process all employees, customers, range users utilizing existing badging systems. Be willing to learn additional duties in order to assist the Document Control Clerks when needed. Be able to manage day-to-day operation of a SAP facility IAW DOD 5205.07 series manuals. Will keep management appraised of any security deficiencies or potential security problems.

OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Five years’ experience in a security discipline. Have completed the two minimum requirements of DSS correspondence courses: Essentials of Industrial Security Management and Protecting Secret and Confidential Documents.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Top-Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Duties are normally performed in an office environment. Working at diverse and isolated locations is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials. May require sitting for long periods of time.
