Job Summary
Drives diesel or gasoline powered tractor / trailer combination to deliver steel products, materials in loose or packaged form, to specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

Function in the Job
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function
- Drives truck to destination(s) following all laws and safety requirements.
- Collects payment for goods delivered when indicated on paperwork, and obtains signature from customer for acceptance of goods.
- Maintains telephone contact with traffic manager or warehouse office whenever unloading is not done in timely matter with customer or problems arise.
- Maintains electronic driver log, according to I.C.C. regulations, D.O.T. regulations, daily mileage log, driving hour log, etc.
- Assists customers and / or warehouse personnel in loading and unloading truck.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water and submits report indicating truck conditions.
- Positions chains and / or straps around items to secure and protect cargo during transit.
- Wears hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and ear protection.
- To inspect and verify work performed.
- Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License and have a physical checkup every two (2) years.
- A Yearly written and road test, which will be administrated by a State of Arizona examiner and will be required to recertify every third year.
All other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by management.
Required Skills
General math including understanding of decimals and fractions. Measuring. Basic computer skills for data entry. Color vision.
