What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician II position at Reliant Systems, Inc?
The Quality Technician II reviews blueprints and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria while developing Test Plans and First Article Inspection Reports of new production parts. The Quality Technician II position develops, maintains, and generates test programs on Coordinate Measurement Machines, on our Vision System. Overall test plans may also include the use of a variety of inspection tools and gages. Additionally, this position monitors calibrations statuses, performs inspections on incoming products to ensure conformance to product requirement, and assists with line startups in the machine shop. This is accomplished through the following essential functions:
- Create inspection programs on our Coordinate Measurement Machines and our Vision System.
- Document Quality Plans on First Article Inspection Reports or In-Process Inspection Reports.
- Verify conformance of high complexity products using various inspection instruments (e.g., CMM’s, Vision System, Micrometers, Calipers, Thread Gages, Dial Indicators, Height Gages, Pins, Blocks, and Thread Plug Gages).
- Read and interpret production travelers and Engineering specifications to ensure product conformance at each manufacturing product sequence.
- Document inspection results and measurements on inspection reports during first article inspection, incoming, or machining inspection sequences.
- Determine quality (pass/fail) of manufactured parts based on dimensional and visual inspection. Identify and recommend disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures.
- Initiate Nonconformance Reports (NC’s) as appropriate.
- Utilize computer programs to search for part processes and procedures.
- Assist Production leaders in training Machinists with inspection instrument usage, processes, and procedures.
- Attend Quality and Production meetings as requested to provide quality information.
- Maintain safety and quality standards using acceptable housekeeping practices.

- * Recommend and/or design inspection fixtures or gages for production purposes, if applicable.
- * Interface with Engineering and Supply Chain with regard to defective parts and maintain an active role as part of the Material Review Board team.
- * Participate in internal quality audits and assist other quality personnel, as necessary.
- * Develop new ideas on Metrology Lab equipment improvements.
- * Promptly address and resolve issues to minimize delays in production.
- * Monitor email throughout the day and communicate back with the information needed.
- * Maintain constant communication with Manager about job progress.
- * Clean and maintain cleanliness of work area.
- * Complete other tasks as assigned.

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
