- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Research and devise models for data analysis
- Communicate findings to stakeholders
- Use analytics software, data visualization software, and data management programs to create reports, dashboards, and other visualizations that produce meaningful insights
- Process and verify the integrity of the data used for analysis
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and structure large data sets to find useable information
- Filter and clean data
- Identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Locate and define process improvement opportunities
- Keep current with technical and industry developments and trends
