Summary :
Duchesne Academy is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Theology Teacher. Led by the Goals and Criteria of the Society of the Sacred Heart, the ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Catholic doctrine, scripture, and tradition. The Theology Teacher will also collaborate with colleagues, participate in school events, and support the overall mission of the institution.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Implement the standards for Religion set forth by the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston within the Duchesne curricular framework of rigorous, project-based learning that focuses on critical thinking, reading, writing, and speaking.
- Plan, organize, and lead activities designed to promote academic, social, and emotional development in a supportive and engaging learning environment.
- Create an emotionally responsive, caring, positive, and accepting environment supportive of the individual development of each child and family.
- Supervise children and ensure a safe and loving environment including the ability to monitor and respond to events going on at all times in the classroom, outdoor play areas, and other areas of the campus.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Act as a student advisor guiding a group of grade level students in fully realizing the Goals and Criteria of the Sacred Heart and helping develop the whole child within this model.
- Evaluate each student's growth and performance.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare and distribute report cards online.
