Large public client is looking for an Accounting manager who supports the consistent application of generally accepting accounting principles (GAAP). Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing the SOX compliance activities of the company.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct technical accounting research and prepare accounting memorandums concluding on the proper application of US GAAP for material contracts and transactions.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting and reporting standards, including appropriate involvement of operating companies.
- Responsible for the oversight of SOX compliance processes and control design. This position does not focus on the testing of controls.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management financial reports, forecasts and budgets for management.
- Manage the performance of the external financial audit and play a key role in the day-to-day interaction with the external audit team.
- Provide oversight and task direction over two staff members who will report directly to this position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited college/university
- CPA required
- 7 years experience, some public accounting experience preferred
