Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Experienced Renewable Energy/Industrial Load Developer with experience in co-locating renewable energy projects with data centers, industrial facilities, or other large-scale energy consumers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy project development, site selection, permitting, and stakeholder engagement. This role requires a keen understanding of the technical, financial, and regulatory aspects of renewable energy development, particularly in configurations co-located with load.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects with a focus on co-location opportunities.
- Identify and assess potential sites for co-located renewable energy development, considering grid interconnection, land use, and permitting.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, developers, regulators, utilities, and co-location partners (e.g., data centers, industrial users).
- Oversee the permitting process and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Secure provisioning of utilities, such as fiber, water, and natural gas supply.
- Advise on strategic decision-making and portfolio expansion efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5-8 years of experience in renewable energy project development, preferably with co-location experience.
- Proven track record of successfully developing renewable energy projects from site selection to financial close.
- Experience in negotiating land agreements, securing permits, and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Familiarity with interconnection processes, power markets, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to project sites, stakeholder meetings, and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with battery storage and hybrid renewable energy projects.
- Understanding of data center energy demands and corporate sustainability requirements.
- Familiarity with de-risking energy projects for PPAs and other energy offtake structures.
- Proficiency in GIS tools, energy modeling software, or grid interconnection analysis.
