Are you ready to take on a hands-on role where you can make a real difference in an active, outdoor environment? We’re looking for Shredder Laborers to join our team at a trusted scrap metal processing company in Harrisburg. This position requires working outdoors in all types of weather and actively engaging in various tasks. If you’re not comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, this job is not for you.
Shift Options :
- 1st Shift Hours : Monday – Friday, 7 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (can vary, possible Saturday morning hours) - $17 / hr
- Swing Shift Hours : Monday – Friday, 12-hour shifts (hours vary), with possible Saturday morning hours - $18 / hr
Position Responsibilities :
Sort materials (plastic, cardboard, and other non-compliant materials) off the conveyor belt before they enter the shredder.Maintain a clean work environment by shoveling, sweeping, and performing general housekeeping duties.Assist with preventative maintenance of the shredder equipment.Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.Follow company policies and ensure adherence to safety procedures.Assist with any other duties as requested by management.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently (from floor to waist).Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vest, gloves (company provided), and steel-toe boots (must be provided by you).Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand motions.Walk on rough terrain in various weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.).Qualifications :
Construction or flagger / traffic control experience is a plus.Comfortable with working outdoors in all weather conditions.Previous experience in labor-intensive roles or physical labor is a plus.Important Notes :
