As a Patient Accounts Supervisor, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our centralized Patient Accounts Department. Your role is crucial in ensuring the seamless management of patient admissions, demographics, insurance information, and more. You'll be at the forefront of maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Supervision: Oversee daily operations in admissions, readmissions, and insurance information maintenance, ensuring real-time claims resolution.
- Collaboration: Partner with various departments to keep customer contact lists updated for admissions and billing information.
- Team Management: Hire, train, and manage Patient Accounts personnel, including handling disciplinary functions.
- Goal Achievement: Drive the department to meet its goals related to volume, production, quality, customer service, and deadlines.
- Performance Monitoring: Assess staff performance for productivity, accuracy, and quality. Implement retraining or performance improvement programs as needed.
- Employee Development: Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching or corrective sessions.
- Operational Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for operational enhancements, such as cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Project Leadership: Lead and participate in special projects aimed at operational improvements.
- Coordination: Work with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and delivery teams to meet daily production and service goals.
- Policy Compliance: Enforce company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Customer Focus: Commit to meeting customer expectations and using feedback to enhance services.
- Engage in special projects or training for operational improvements.
- Collaborate positively and productively with team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- College degree in business or healthcare preferred.
- Minimum of five years managing daily operations in a healthcare environment, preferably in long-term care pharmacy.
- Experience with budgets and staffing management.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, with the ability to interpret prescriptions and doctors' orders.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
