About the Role
As our Intake Coordinator, you’ll manage the intake process for patients referred from long-term care and outpatient facilities. You’ll verify insurance, enter data into our EMR system, coordinate authorizations, and communicate with both internal teams and external partners to ensure a smooth transition for each patient.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter patient demographics and insurance details into the EMR system
- Verify insurance benefits, secure prior authorizations, and confirm eligibility
- Communicate with referral sources, insurance companies, and providers
- Coordinate intake appointments and track referral progress
- Ensure full HIPAA and regulatory compliance throughout the intake process
- Provide compassionate support to patients and families
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and Teams to manage information and internal communication
- Collaborate with the clinical team and suggest process improvements
- Maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive health information with discretion
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of experience in insurance verification or intake for long-term care, assisted living, nursing homes, or outpatient behavioral health
- Familiarity with verifying coverage for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Teams
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude and a passion for healthcare
