Compensation: $55,000 to $65,000 annually
Expected Hours: Variable of hours between 9:00am-11:00pm (some flexibility, required to work weekends).
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Front of House (FOH) Manager to join our team. In addition to fulfilling roles as bartender, server, and/or host, the FOH Manager will oversee and control the day-to-day operations of the dining room and bar, ensuring that all FOH staff provide exceptional service and that guests enjoy an unforgettable experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership presence, excellent customer service skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staffing & Training: Hire, train, and supervise FOH staff to maintain top-tier service. Collaborate with the Back of House (BOH) Manager for staff evaluations.
- Manager on Duty (MOD): Take charge during peak times to ensure smooth operations and positive guest experiences, supporting both FOH and BOH staff.
- Scheduling: Use local events, business trends, and past scheduling data to create efficient staff schedules while managing labor costs.
- Customer Service: Deliver excellent service as a bartender, server, and manager. Resolve guest complaints and ensure complete satisfaction.
- Quality Control: Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and waste. Communicate with the BOH team to ensure top-tier food preparation.
- Staff Morale: Foster a positive and respectful work environment, addressing staff concerns and mediating when necessary.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with owners, managers, office staff, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team.
- Event Planning: Assist in the planning and execution of special events, including banquet orders and setup.
- Inventory Management: Monitor bar inventory, place weekly orders with vendors, and conduct monthly inventory counts. Maintain cost control on liquor and beer sales.
- Vendor Relations: Work with vendors to ensure timely and accurate ordering and delivery of alcohol and bar supplies.
- Technology & Tools: Utilize tools like Toast POS, Google Docs, Canva, Sling Scheduling, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) to manage operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including at least 1-2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Skills: Strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Google Docs, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, Toast POS, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram), and scheduling tools (Sling, Canva).
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises a team of bartenders and servers (7 employees).
- Responsibilities include training, work assignment, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the dining area.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak business times.
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
