As an Interior Designer , you will work on the interior renovation of projects with varying levels of complexity from design through construction and installation. You will work with and receive mentorship from senior members in the department.The individual in this position will have the opportunity to work with multiple brands and participate in all phases of design for select and full service hotels and multi-family projects.Responsibilities : Have greater responsibility for projects than a Jr Designer, while still receiving input from senior staffPossess an interest in the hospitality business and an awareness of changing trends in design and the industryUnderstand the basics of the hospitality industry and apply them to projectsWork collaboratively with individuals throughout the organization, give clear direction and communicate ideas effectivelyAnalyze scope and budgets and with input from senior staff, make adjustments and develop designs to meet scope and budgetWork with project managers, hotel engineers and others to gain information needed for documentation of a projectPossess the ability to visualize and create a space not only as it relates to furniture and finishes, but to the shape and interior architectural details of the space as wellPerform field verification with the appropriate supporting documentationAccurately perform quantity take-offs and create budgetsSpace plan by hand sketching or using CADPossess extensive familiarity with local and national vendors for furniture, fabrics and architectural materials, and hold responsibility for the selection of thesePrepare design presentations for Ownership and the hotel Brands using a combination of sketches, PowerPoint and Photoshop.Communicate with Brand design representatives and track approvalsDevelop and prepare FF&E specifications using the SPEXX programPrepare construction documents, working hand-in-hand with Job Captain and Architects to create, coordinate and execute design packages, including but limited to plans, elevations, millwork drawings, material selections and specifications required for construction.Develop understanding of interior construction means, methods and procedures as well as building and accessibility codes. Have the ability to discuss them with contractorsParticipate in the construction administration of projects and reviews of submittals, review submittals, shop drawings and answer RFI'sAttend project pre-bid and or FF&E installations on ownAttend weekly project conference calls if considered the most senior designer on the project.Communicate with purchasing and project management on a regular basis throughout the projectDevelop organization and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritizeContribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programsBachelor's degree for interior design or architecture with a minimum 3 years of experienceNCIDQ certification is strongly preferredComfortable with personal responsibility and accountability and embraces open communication and collaborationPossess professional poise and polish, and demonstrate flexibility and the ability to communicate both verbally and graphically to many personality typesKnowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint and Photoshop) and SPEXXKnowledge of Spitfire to analyze budgets
