Position Summary:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the quality of the hotel linen supply by ensuring cleanliness according to company procedures and at a level that meets or exceeds company standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Sort, weigh, wash, dry, iron, fold and stock guest room and Food & Beverage linen
- Know and follow the operating functions of all equipment, reporting any damage,
hazards or defective equipment to a supervisor - Utilize chemicals used in washing, controlling quantities of supplies as recommended by
chemical supplier with approval of Executive Housekeeper - Perform other duties as assigned
- Follow all Material Safety Data Sheet documents and management company Safety Standards
- Pay rate: $18.25 hourly (USD)
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- High work ethic and self-initiative
- Regular attendance according to established guidelines
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
- Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite
frequent interruptions - Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest
confidentiality at all time
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time, as work flow is
continuous throughout the shift - Bend, pull, stoop, squat and stretch to shake, sort, wash, dry, fold, and stack linen
- Operate commercial laundry equipment in a safe manner
- Work conditions could include hot and humid environments
- Lift approximately thirty (30) pounds of equipment or supplies, using safe lifting
techniques - Push heavy carts, approximately one hundred (100) pounds
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
