Field Production Assistant

Job Summary

This is a versatile role that supports multiple aspects of seed corn production at our facility. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in seed packaging, conditioning, treating, and warehousing
• Perform maintenance work in the facility
• Conduct outside work from spring through fall to assist in planting, inspecting, detasseling, male row destruction, and harvesting of the seed crop
• Gain an understanding of our Company culture and customer relationships
• Learn and understand quality processes and functions in both Field and Plant operations

Requirements

• Reliable and dependable with a good attitude
• Ability to perform tasks safely
• Compliance with location policies and procedures
• Ability to perform physical labor, lift greater than 50lbs
• Forklift experience preferred
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Basic computer knowledge preferred
• Effective communication skills
• Flexibility to work in both plant and field
